Sometimes, the ad is just so saturated with stupid, you can't even squeeze out small amounts to concentrate on. I tried with this one, but....I've got next to nothing.
Just two comments- first, it's pretty damned amazing that the baby in this commercial has lived THIS long, with the glue-sniffing weirdo parents it has. Second, Mother-in-Law will be "so proud?" Really?
That's all I've got. Anyone else want to take a shot at it?
Pepsi Next? What a boring name. They've pretty much admitted to doing the same thing over and over again hoping you'll come back each time. The Disney/Marvel method of sales.
ReplyDeleteWell, that's a good point concerning the embedded cynicism here. Kind of like a commercial I plan to do soon which features a guy who is instantly dissatisfied with his perfectly good phone the moment he realizes that there's been an upgrade to the same model. This isn't necessarily "better," it's just "next." And to these idiots, it's the "most impressive thing ever." Groan.

DeleteAbout the only thing I can think of is the thing suddenly turning into the episode of Dragnet that has Joe Gannon wanna toss his cookies cause the baby drowned while her parents were off getting high.
